Is there a version with the reprise/high ending for auditions? I can't find it anywhere!!
I’m not sure. Let me know if you find it. I didn’t realize the reprise had a higher ending.
Hi
"Promosm"
Looks wonderful with a lot going for it plus lots of potential!
I think so too! Wouldn’t be in this position if it weren’t for you. “Ember! “ 🎉❤😮
Hey Bald E! Beautiful. Thank you for sharing this; what a privilege to come along with you guys on your journey. It is so surreal watching you venture all these trails over a decade after I followed you for oh so many creek stomps with Red Q and night hikes with SPACED. Glad to see you are not a single ounce less inspiring than you were when I was one of them youths. I hope/know our paths with cross again someday soon. Love, Keanu (Canoe)
Canoe!!! Our first ever Youngest Camper who grew to be such an awesome man!! Soooooo great to hear from you my friend!!
@robodoubtfire If you want to cross paths, look what I/we now have coming down the pipeline… we might soon own our very own camp property!! If this happens, come play and hang and be a part of something super special from the very start: ua-cam.com/video/_FclOliNr_I/v-deo.html
@@DougCembellin I saw, I'm so excited for you guys! You know I'll be there! So happy to see Buddha still thriving too. My dog enjoyed watching your video with me 😂
This is so perfect for you and your vision. I am thrilled that you will be able to have this space to make your dreams come true.
Good seeing you at the concert on Friday, Cyndy. Your enthusiasm and the enthusiasm of the community for this venture gives me confidence and helps me realize I’m not alone! There are loads of good folks in Lake County! ❤
Please comment w/your thoughts. I’m thinking RVs, vans & tent camping in Mar, Apr, May, Oct, Nov, & Dec. Summer camps in June & July. Educational retreats in Sept and closed for maintenance and repairs in Jan & Feb. What say you???
Wow! Absolutely beautiful. Thank you.
Thank YOU for giving it a watch. 🙂👍🏼🌲🏔️⛰️🎒⛺️☀️🌙✨
in other videos I've seen it didn't seem like the switch backs were accessible, did you have any issues getting to them?
This video was shot in 2017, but was set to "private" until June 2 2023. I would imagine that Whitney is probably super buried in snow at this time.
Great video
Thanks Robert. 🙂
Wow. From southern border to the northern border. I don't care if it's in three segments. I'm frick'n impressed.
Thanks Robert! ❤
So cool! Can’t wait to do this someday.
Do it! You won’t regret it!!
I love it!
Vuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!! ❤
Oh WOW! The two of you are THE Dynamic Duo! And THIS my friend, needs to be seen by the whole World. Inspiring, beautiful, absolutely amazing feat. ❤❤
Thanks Kenna Bean!! ❤
This is super rad stuff, dude. Nice work.
Thanks dude!! Means a lot coming from you!!!
Wow! It is hard to just see a few highlights. I can't wait to see the full length feature. I felt like I was on the trail with them.
Ha ha! Yeah, the idea here was to create kind of a movie trailer to peak peoples interest and lead them wanting more. Glad it had the correct effect. I posted a fairly rough 13 minute version of the trail as well… Just look up my name, and PCT and you should be able to find it. More to come.
What a fun adventure! I loved watching every second. The editing really invited me into the moment. I can't wait to see the full length feature.
Awwwww….thanks Cyndy.
This is wonderful! 😭 I look forward to seeing more! ❤️
Amazing! Absolutely love it!
Amazing!! Love it!
Those rattlesnakes weren’t muzzled? Yikes! I have seen this method used, but the rattlesnakes had little muzzles on. Wish I could find someone in N.E. Georgia that could train my small dog.
@knoweyes pardon the late reply. I posted this so long ago I forget to look. Yeah, I was suuuuuuper skeptical when I saw full on rattlesnakes at the training, but the man doing the work had been in business a really long time (15-20 years) and had excellent reviews and results. If you hike in areas where rattlesnakes live, I highly recommend this training.
@@DougCembellin I took my dog to one of the training sessions. I haven’t seen a snake in my yard since, so I just hope my dog remembers if he ever runs upon one. Thank you for responding!
Kill that snake.
Torture
I would typically agree with your comment of “torture”. I’ve never used shock collars and I have not ever done so since, and I questioned the man leading the training and he assured me it was a very low voltage. He even put it on me so I could feel the sensation and it was incredibly mild. Still, I would typically agree with your comment. However, 2 days into our hike, our dogs came across a coiled rattlesnake on the trail and they both jumped back immediately several feet. They knew exactly what to do and I really think this experience saved their lives.
You should do a documentary about uCamps as if it were National Geographic, NOVA or Nature on PBS
You look nothing like Justin, you have a great unique smile 😊. Keep it up guys, I'll watch every vid.
Somehow I missed your comment from 2 YEARS AGO!! I didn't know what you meant and having just re watched the video, Amy says she looks like Justin Bieber...now I realize your comment was clever and a great way to let us know you watched the whole thing....so tanks for that!!
The question I always ask while watching videos like this is, How did this work out for you? This is an enormous amount of prep. Was it worth the effort and expense? (Those boxes cost $15 to ship, not counting the contents!) Were you happy with your food choices? Would you do it this way again?
I found out something that makes Matthew coffee even better, 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of virgin coconut oil stirred
I so agree that the little bit of shock training is better than being bitten. If people think a shock is bad, take a look at rattlesnake bites. And small dogs and cats often don't survive at all. We plan on doing this with our dog. I can't bear to think of him getting bitten and the pain he would go through :(
I want to go though the training too. However, I’m not sure the shock collar will be effective training. My dog has been bit by a rattlesnake. Now that she’s healed she still pounces on bushes. So she learned nothing from the whole live experience.
@Summerafternoon Pardon the long overdue reply. Thank you for your comment. I'm with you 100%. My dogs have encountered 2 rattlesnakes on trail since doing the training and both times, they avoided them like the plague. Typically with cows, squirrels, deer, skunks, etc., they move toward the animals with great curiosity (my dogs have been skunked 3-4 times each....the worst) but rattlesnakes.....no no no......they know to stay away thanks to the training. :)
A+ use of a shock collar. Many avoidance videos out there where they hit the dog with the shock so hard the dog comes off the ground. That is cruel and unnecessary. Your training levels clearly work without damaging the dog.
Inari Rose awwww thanks! I’m with you... I was VERY concerned about the use of shock collars as a method for training. I agree, the man running the training genuinely cares for the dogs and he struck a nice balance of care and education. Thanks for the kind words. And PS, the training worked. The 1st time we stumbled upon a rattlesnake after this training, My dog Zeus jumped about three feet in the air in the opposite direction.
All that sugar exacerbates hunger while on the trail.
Jerrymc1975 Thanks for the constructive criticism… Now how about offering some suggestions for alternate food rather than just being a critic.
The shock collar is no big deal. I've shocked myself with it all the way up to maximum and it's not a big deal.
people are like their dogs. I hope I'm like my dog.He is bad ass
Sorry, but I dont care what other ppl eat. It's so much like celebrating mediocrity. Useful info would be like addresses and particulars about package handling at various locations. I dont mean to be brutal, but this was useless.
I thought you aren't allowed 🐕 on the trail 😮 how much food for the dogs?
pelle lindbergh Both of our dogs are service animals. Still, both amy and I consider it a big mistake to have ever brought the dogs. We had no idea how difficult the trail would be, especially for the dogs. We had a wonderful home for each of our dogs set up as a back up if/when either dogs had to cover trail. Our first dog only made 77 miles before we called our friend to have the dog taken off trail. The other dog made about 350 miles before we pulled him off trail. I would highly recommend not bringing a dog.
did you finnish the trail?
What do you feed your dog while hiking for long periods of times
But... Dogs are forbidden on the PCT, right? Or am I wrong?
Great job, but do tortias really last that long?
40intrek we kept the more perishable food in a freezer and as each box was mailed to the next resupply address, corresponding perishable items were taken out of the freezer and put in the box for shipping. Your question is valid. The tortillas would have never lasted 6 months without freezing.
How did you feed them? How much food did you carry
Excellent video, excellent resupply strategy...just lots of wow! I get stressed trying to do four resupplies!! : )
I know this is months later, but I wanted to tank you for your kind words!! We were on the trail from April until September and had the adventure of a lifetime. :)
Love the video! One of the best supply box prep videos I have seen :) I see a lot of cliff bars, do you think you would get tired it it?
Thank you Suzy. We appreciate the support and positive comment. Amy got sick of her Clif Bars. I was cool with the bars but DID get sick of tuna and oatmeal. :)
look at the size of this tree. what?! baaaaammm.
Hahahaha!!! I randomly came across this comment this morning and then had to re watch the video to get the reference!! Hahahaha!! Awesome! Miss you Cov!!
Lose the trowel and get a Tent Lab Deuce of Spades thetentlab.com/ (.6oz $20) Choose one knife, preferably the lighter one, leave the other. Keep the spoon, lose the knife and fork.
Bring all you need, carry all you bring. Lose the gaiters and get Dirty Girl Gaiters dirtygirlgaiters.com/ $23. Lose plastic knife and fork. Lose the larger pot unless each will eat from the other. Consider a 700ml or 900ml pot. Do you have a real knife, even a Swiss Army Knife Classic SD or a Spyderco Ladybug? Do you have a large canvas needle and some dental floss? Do you have safety pins? Each person needs to carry a knife and 2 ways to make fire. Your mileage may vary.
Best audio when the camera was in front of them. Is that 1 mic or 2 on the camera?
Buddha is quite upset you are talking to other animals. He is doing well though.
Hahahaha!! I just saw this comment. I'm happy you guys have a new dog now! Buddha is still doing well....though getting old and having a little trouble with his hips....he's 10 years old now....can you believe it? I hope you and your dad are doing well. :)
What kind of trekking poles are those?
Maybe you're leaving the following day but as an FYI it is not recommended to store your EE quilt in a stuff sack.
What do you do with your canine excrement? Do you carry it until you hit a waste disposal? Or do you have to dig a hole each time and push it in with your trekking pole/stick/etc.?
This is very interesting! It's the first PCT thru hikers I've seen vlogging with dogs. What advice have you gotten about getting the dogs through the record snow? Cheers to a fantastic safe hike for the whole family!
Solo Over 50 sorry I never replied to your message. We just received another message to our video and that’s when I saw your message for the first time. My then girlfriend amy and I… We got engaged on the trail in 2017 and we got married October 19, 2019…She and I did 1500 miles of the trail that year. One of our dogs Buddha made a total of 77 miles before a friend of ours came and met us at Scissors Crossing and took him a trail and cared for him for several months while we were hiking. Our other dog Zeus made it about 330 miles before coming off trail around Silverwood lake to stay with a close friend. We were very stubborn about leaving our dogs behind, but looking back on it, the Pacific Crest Trail really is no place for a dog. Luckily we had good contingency plans for both of them and we managed to avoid any sort of long-term injuries to our beautiful boys!
Doug Cembellin Congratulations on your nuptials and 1500 miles. It’s great that you put your dogs well being first. Good on ya!
